Supporting local swimmers

MNI Services were delighted to support (WNSC) West Norfolk Swimming Club, by supplying a new laptop for the time keeping of competitions system as well as administrative use.

West Norfolk Swimming Club was formed in 2009, from the amalgamation of the Kings Lynn Warriors and the Downham and District Swimming Club. The club draws in swimmers from the West Norfolk area but especially Kings Lynn and Downham Market. We benefit from having two swimming pools that we can class as our club pools, the St James pool in Kings Lynn and Downham Market pool. Both pools have excellent training facilities and as well as training we run competitions at both pools attracting swimmers from clubs across the Norfolk.

West Norfolk Swimming Club has over 260 members, swimmers ranging from the very young beginners in our development swimming program aged from six, to our oldest master’s swimmer aged 80.

West Norfolk Swimming Club’s Oliver Kenny represented Great Britain at the World Deaf Swimming Championships at Coimbra, Portugal. Oliver, was selected to compete in the 100 metre butterfly and 1500 metre freestyle an exceptional challenge with the two events requiring different skills and physical exertions. The next target for the youngster is the Deaf National Championships in 2012 and 2013 when GB team selection will be made. Two swimmers from the club (Abbie & Nathan) have been selected to the England Talent Development programme for 2013 last season, more than three-quarters of our swimmers gained county qualifying times. Twelve of our swimmers gained regional qualifying times, where they made multiple finals and won four medals and one qualified for the British Gas National Championships and National Youth Championships.
